Griffith College Dublin was established in 1974 and has become Ireland’s largest independent third-level college with over 9,000 full-time and part-time students, including 1,400 international students from 66 countries. Griffith College enjoys a strong national and a growing international reputation for student success. The College has gained an enviable reputation for providing students with first class lectures and excellent study material.


Dublin is a lively, friendly and safe city with its vibrant student life by night and day. International and National awards across all faculties

All of the faculties at Griffith College have won international awards. The Journalism and Media Communications faculty is proud to announce that one of their students won the European Parliament prize in October 2008. The faculty has won over 46 different media awards over the past five years. One of its most successful graduates was Cecilia Ahern who completed the BA (Hons) in Journalism and Media Communications. The Professional Law school has won over 18 medals of excellence in the past three years and Griffith College students consistently exceed the national average when it comes to passing the FE1 examinations. The Design faculty has won the Institute of Designers of Ireland Graduate Designer of the Year Award in 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007. The Computing Faculty won the Robocode award 2008.

Premier Plus Status College of the ACCA

The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants ) has named GCD as one of the leading ACCA colleges in Ireland and has conferred GCD with “Premier Plus” status. This title has been awarded to GCD because of consistently outstanding results achieved internationally and nationally by GCD students over the years.

Tripartite Masters

The two year Tripartite Masters programme offers students the unique experience of studying in three European cities: Paris, Berlin and Dublin. Participants obtain two Masters in this one programme. This unique programme (presented in English) gives students the opportunity of studying in Berlin at SRH Hochschule (semester 1), Dublin at Griffith College (semester 2) and Paris at INSEEC Grand Ecole (semester 3), and then undertake their supervised dissertation at one of these locations in order to obtain two masters degrees. Each institution will recruit 12 students for the annual intake in September, and the combined cohort will experience academic life, business life and student life in each of the three major European Cities. On successful completion the student will receive two degrees, normally one from the College through which they were recruited, and secondly from the College whose degree most closely mirrors their career aspirations. The available degrees are: MA in International Strategic Management, MSc in International Business Management, MSc in International Business Strategy.

The College has an ever-increasing number of international students with 1,400 students from more than 66 countries registered for on-campus programmes. GCD’s International Office is devoted entirely to the needs of the international students in the College. International Office advisors are available all year round for advice on every aspect of international student life including visas and residency in Ireland, accommodation and social and academic issues.

On-Campus Facilities

On-Campus facilities include computer and electronics laboratories, student common rooms, bars and restaurant, college gym, video and film editing rooms, two radio stations and several photographic dark rooms,state of the art conference centre and underground Car Park.

On Campus Accommodation

Only a 10 minutes walk from the heart of Dublin City Centre, Griffith Halls of Residence offers students apartments that are comfortable and modern living in buildings designed to reflect the historical significance of the campus as a whole. One, two and three bedroom apartments are available. There is 24 – hour security which means it is a safe, secure environment for residents. Association with Industry & Business

Griffith College Dublin has a close association with Industry and Business and has placed many of its international students on short term paid work internship programmes, particularly in the software and IT industries. The College’s strong links with industry stem from the fact that many of GCD’s former students are in executive and middle management positions within the leading companies in Ireland and abroad.
